I Turned My Back On The Church Because I was Judged, Not Loved
Saved and Spirit-filled, my journey took me through broken marriages and family alienation. Depressed and desperate for love, I ended up hating the church and everyone in it.
Follow my prodigal journey of how I forgave the Church and returned to a place filled with imperfect people serving a Perfect god.
And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
Luke 15:20
The Agenda Of My Heart For This Blog
Sharena

Maybe you haven’t been talking to Jesus much lately. Maybe you haven’t been to church in a while because well, maybe you finally left your abusive worship leader husband, and your friends who you thought were ‘family’ believed him, and ditched you!
Perhaps you went to church for 5 years tithing ten percent of your hard-earned money every single Sunday and the Pastor who liked to rock up in his 2015 Range Rover asked if you were new? Or maybe he did know you….a little too well in fact. Except now, he’s still preaching while you’re the excommunicated lesson he learned to never do again.
The reality is, that around the world, there are millions of bitter and broken Christians wandering without direction or hope. Some who may say, have lost their salvation or never even wanted it.
My agenda is not to defend my or others’ experiences but to offer empathy, acceptance, and no judgment on wherever you’ve been or are going. My hope is that in sharing how I returned to my faith after church abandonment, that others will be encouraged back home into the loving arms of Jesus. To not resist freedom you know you were given the moment you first surrendered. That it’s within our perpetual testimony God’s Glory prevails. Our choices and broken roads should never be what define us in the end.
The Promised Land can still be yours. No one can take away what God has ultimately given you. Salvation.
